Caldwell Companies was hired as a retail contractor to restore the facade of this general store built circa 1900. Throughout history this building has been used as a "store" and social gathering place for locals and travelers on the Ohio & Erie Canal. This historic property in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park is now owned and operated by the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It serves as a great meeting place and "watering hole" for the visitors to the park.
It was an honor and a challenge to renovate the facade back to it's original look with a saloon type gable wall and covered wooden deck. We were provided only two pictures that were nearly 100 years old, however this is where Caldwell Companies relies on it's experience and excels, separating itself from other contractors.
