In 1999 we were a framing contractor and trim contractor for TH Construction on this unique project. The gazebo enclosure was needed to house and protect a masterfully restored carousel from the 1932 World's Fair.
The carousel inside this enclosure was made for the 1932 World's Fair in Seattle by the Herschell Company in New York. It was purchased and installed as an original component of The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo when it originally opened in 1938. After 60 years of service it was dismantled and sent away for restoration. Greg Caldwell was hired as a framing contractor to build the enclosure among other projects at the zoo . After the detailed and expert restoration of the actual carousel it was re-installed in its new home and reopened to the public on May 20th 1999. The new structure and carousel are also listed on the State Register of Historic Properties.
